According to the report in Hindustan Times, Cyble officials said that the data does not appear to be leaked by the government, rather it seems that the third party has leaked it. It is being sold through the profile of a famous actor. It was found in the investigation that the actor has more than 1 lakh IDs from different parts of the country. These IDs are used to gain the trust of everyone by going among the criminals and declaring themselves as common people.

It is believed that a scanned copy of the ID has been stolen from a company's 'Know Your Customer' (KYC). According to the intelligence agency, both KYC and banking scams have increased in recent times. The agency believes that the third party is stealing these IDs from banks and selling them to the cybercriminals at a high price through the dark net. Even in May, the intelligence agency warned of the danger. According to this, personal information of more than 7.65 Indians was being sold on the dark net. It was found in the investigation that 4.75 of these people are those who use Trucollar. Millions of data were stolen from job websites.
