I recently read some statistics from a Microsoft survey published in November 2007 about the cost of websites that are invisible to search engines. It may be that you are looking at a very attractive and flashy website but it will do no good for driving traffic to your website. Microsoft found that UK businesses were wasting over £3 Billion on websites that were virtually invisible to the search engines.  The Microsoft survey went on to explain the reasons why business owners don’t do anything about it – this is what they said: 33% said that it was too complicated,What kind of Internet Marketing strategy do you need for your website? Articles 44% said it was too time consuming, 56% said it was too expensive. Of those who did do something, 76% said promoting their business on the internet brought an immediate increase in sales.

Firstly you will have to work out how to drive traffic to your website. Once you have driven customers to you site, you have to work out what to do with them. Creating a relationship with visitors by offering something of real value, for example a free report, which will be free to you but invaluable to the prospective customers. The customer will then feel that you really care about them.

Once you have got a relationship going with a prospective customer by giving them something for free it is then the part where you have to keep in touch with your prospects /customers via blogs and email marketing. Email marketing is a relatively low cost way to keep building a relationship with a customer and create awareness of what your company can do for them.
