Visitor Management Systems are one of the fastest growing utility tools today. Be it a hospital,Visitor Management Systems: A new face to the visitor log book. Articles a multinational corporate office or any organization that needs to keep a record of its daily footfall, a Visitor Management System spells the need of the day. A Visitor Management System is a complete one stop solution which fulfills all the criteria that one looks forward to while thinking of managing the visitors in the premises.

It has become a thing of the past when security guards standing at the gates would command every single visitor to pen down a record of the entry and exit times and other details. These systems were essential as well as mandatory to ensure the security of the organization wherein there are hundreds or even more people walking in and out if the gates daily. Retaining any particular data out of these heavy log books was a cumbersome task and one had to flip religiously through old, worn out, torn and dilapidated pages to reach a particular entry of a particular day or date. However, the system was not completely flawless and just like many other man- handled documents, this data could also be manhandled, modified and manipulated quite easily. It was high time for automatization to take over and come up with solutions that would make this system as effective and as flawless as possible. As day by day everything is getting a technical and non- humane touch, the same has also happened to our visitor’s register. The revamped latest version is now known as the Visitor Management System.

Visitor Management Kiosks have taken over successfully and are being used increasingly in multination corporations, huge office premises, libraries, etc. These systems enable the administrator or the assigned person to keep a check on the visitors without having to indulge or interact with them even. The kiosks are self- sufficient and record every visitor, associating the taken records with a unique generated ID and storing it on cloud storage from where it can be retrieved anytime at any location. This system also makes use of recurring details to identify visitors and generates a regular visitor badge or a one- time visitor badge depending on the nature of the visit. There are different types of visitors that visit a corporate premise every day, be it the regular employees, contractual staff, vendors, guests, potential interview candidates and many more. To assign a badge of different nature to each of these types of visitor management softwares is what these systems effectively handle.

One of the distinct features of this system is that it keeps open the option of rejecting or accepting meeting invites from visitors. For the people from the top management, keeping up with schedules despite of unannounced visitors is a tedious task which is eased up till quite an extent by this system. Set up as simple self- help kiosks, these systems are soon to become a common site in most offices in metro- cities and the like.
