Imagine life without teachers. It would probably be so hard getting to learn the alphabet all by ourselves. We would also most likely commit numerous mistakes because nobody tells us what would work and what won’t. Teachers or Mentors work as guides,Why Do We Need A Mentor? What Are The Benefits Of Having One? Articles teaching us things we should know in order for us to succeed. Without them, we would probably go through all the learning and studying process all by ourselves. The problem is, it would definitely take more time compared by having a mentor who would at least make the process faster and easier.

So, the question is, why do we need a mentor? We would probably be somehow egotistical, believing we already know what needs to be known in the business setting that we are into, making us somehow skeptical on having a mentor. But the thing is, whether we believe it or not, having a mentor would still provide us with multitude of benefits that are worth taking.

First, mentors are far more experienced. They have been in the same industry for quite some time, with a wide range of experiences and connections that would be of great help to further our career.

Second, they help us take the better path and avoid committing mistakes that they have already done. They are already in the position to tell you the proper way of doing things and may advise you on what are the things that may work for you and your business.

Third, since they are well-experienced and have probably accomplished a lot of things already, they will most likely have a wide network of people who share the same interests and industry that you may also tap. For your business to grow, you need a wide network. People who may either be your target clients, or people who may be in the position to help you spread your marketing message across people who may be interested in your business. Either way, you may still have the chance to take full advantage of that.

Finally, mentors act as motivators. They let you look in a different perspective. They show you things you probably wouldn’t see in your entire lifetime. They inspire you to become someone you don’t imagine yourself being.

In the end, your ultimate success will highly depend on how you perform. Mentors are only there to guide you. They will not do it for you. You will make it happen.  The outcome of your endeavor will still depend on the decisions that you make and on your will to attain your goals.
