Over the recent years,Branding “You” as a Person in Your MLM Business Articles there have been quite a lot of discussions regarding personal branding and how it can directly or indirectly affect network marketing. If you have experience working in ad agencies, or you have been a network marketer for some time, then chances are you are keenly aware of the concept of Branding Yourself. It is also very likely that you have seen personally just how big the influence of having a uniformed branding campaign is—both when used in the highly competitive world of corporations, and in the modest undertakings of home-based businesses.

The general idea you need to understand is this: promoting your very own personal brand, instead of merely following the lead of the network marketing company you’re working for at the moment, is bound to have high impact not only in the growth of your business, but also in your identity. You will be viewed as a business owner (even a start-up one at that) as opposed to simply being one of the many distributors in that particular network marketing company. In a nutshell, it makes you a legitimate entrepreneur, and that in itself says a lot. Perhaps even before you have ventured in MLM, you may have heard of comments stating that working in a network marketing company already makes someone a businessman. But is that really true? If you look at it carefully, you will see that in reality the position is nothing more than being a commissioned representative, which is known as a distributor—but an independent one, of course.

Have you ever asked yourself what would happen if the company you now represent suddenly goes bankrupt, or decides to discontinue its operations? You may be left with absolutely nothing: no more checks as well as a brand that you never created for yourself. That is because you were simply promoting the company’s brand instead of branding yourself.  It is about time you realize the importance of personal branding in Network Marketing. Instead of merely being a distributor, you can opt to actually create your very own personal brand. This would trigger people to gradually do business with you based on the distinctly unique identity you have established for yourself. Personal branding would also give you an edge, because it supports the specific niche or market you want to target. Having a personal brand will also let you have plenty of opportunities to build and expand on your own list of contacts—not your company’s.  The greatest advantage of branding “you” as person in your multi-level marketing business is that it sets you apart from the rest.
