He started out with the dream of becoming an MLM success, becoming an entrepreneur, generating a residual income. My goal, in this commentary, is to share with you a bit of Mike Dillard's story that you can use in your company to achieve increased success.Mike Dillard's StoryMike Dillard started out in the MLM industry after finishing college. He openly shares how that at that time, he was very shy, had very little self-confidence and had no money. He needed to have an income to pay for the bills, and in addition, he needed to eliminate his fear of talking to prospects.He took a job as a medical recruiter calling 200+ doctors' offices, every day, to eliminate the fear picking up the phone and talking to prospects. In a short time, picking up the phone was something he could now do with complete confidence.Next, he accepted a job as a waiter at PF Changs. This freed up his days to concentrate his efforts on MLM. Mike used many of the traditional business building methods, attended home based meeting, passed out flyers, everything and anything without any success.Mike started reading books and listening to instructional cds. He discovered target marketing, going after the people that were already using what you're offering. He learned about leadership. He began contacting 100 to 200 people on genealogy lists, daily, still with little success.He reflected on how his life could be so much better if he could get people to make contact with him. So, he tried to figure out what he must do to get at least 5 to 10 prospects to contact him daily. He searched for a mentor. He studied attraction marketing. Mike learned that the only reason people will join you is because they see you as a leader that can offer value to them. He learned to posture himself as a leader, rather than chasing after people.After struggling for over 6 years, going deep into debt, and even pawning his assets just to eat, he finally figured things out, and discovered the art of magnetic sponsoring. Initially, he made what he now mastered available to his team. Then he started teaching people, in any company, how to attract a constant flow of new prospects and customers to them.Today, Mike has built a multiple 7-figure organization, leveraging the Internet, in the multi-level marketing industry. He teaches clients that being a leader is a choice you make for yourself, immediately. It's a state of mind, a position that you put yourself into. It's the ability to tell someone else what to do next.Mike Dillard teaches people to stand out from the rest by being honest, having integrity, and giving value.
