In most situations, we have the choice to be passive, assertive, or aggressive, and being assertive brings the optimum results, without doing emotional wound to anyone. It is the inner confidence of putting self-interests in a truthful, descent, calm and clarified manner. Assertiveness brings least complications in conversation and is able to minimize misunderstandings and misinterpretations. Being passive permits frustration and irritation to assemble, as we suppress our will and desire. Ultimately, it does not solve the problem, and procrastinate it to come up later, in bigger form. It increases ambiguity and complexity in any task or performance. It is destruction to one’s own personality.

Aggressiveness is insensitivity to others, an abrasive, threatening bullying approach. It carries arrogance and impatience, fails to understand and listen to others’ opinion. It is egocentric, insensitive, and unfair. Often, we become aggressive to claim superiority to our own weaknesses, and flaws. Being aggressive can curb the problem to certain extent but cannot eliminate it forever.

Assertiveness gives chance to discussions, helpful in putting rational thoughts, balances emotions, and leaves the door open for future communication.
