Long back in the past,What Is Non Linear Video Editing? Articles when the process of making movies was not so easy and affordable, most people were happy with the way they had shot their movies; they would just watch them as it is. In fact, even if somebody wanted to edit their movies, it was not so straight since computers were not affordable and use of software was limited only to a few people.

To edit their movies, people had to actually cut their films with razors, remove the unwanted bits and then attach the pieces of film together. This is how it used to work and this type of editing was known as Linear Editing.

Back then this was the only method available to the movie editors but today if you look at it, it seems as if it was just so much of wasted time, spent in editing and reworking.

Fortunately for us today, we have non-linear video editing available to us. So what exactly is non linear editing? As the name suggests, you do not have to edit the captured footage in any specific order, you perform the edits in any order you feel is appropriate.

With computers becoming powerful and affordable, non linear editing software like Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, etc, will let you easily do all the editing work. Once the video footage is in your computer, it is in the digital domain, so it is very easy to use drag and drop features on them. The non linear editing software will automatically make all the necessary adjustments to fit in the clips as per your wish.
