If you need a crimping iron for yourself or you are choosing one as a gift, it is important that you look for a brand that you trust with features that you need. A crimping iron is one of those tools that you either use every single day or only once in a while.

A crimping iron is one of those tools that you either use every single day or only once in a while. Either way, it is something that you want to have at the ready. But, there are a few things you have to decide before you buy a new one, whether you are replacing a broken one or you want to upgrade the one that you are currently using. For most people, their hair is something that is very important to them, and they will want to keep their hair healthy and happy without having to worry about heat damage, pulling or other issues.

Ceramic is a good material of choice for crimpers and other heat producing, hair styling tools. It is smooth and does not pull or tug on the hair while you are using it. This may also make it a great option for a tool that will be shared by people who have different hair types that must be styled in different ways. For instance, if two sisters are sharing a single crimper type tool and one wants straight, flat hair and the other wants crimped hair, the ability to switch plates keeps you from having to buy two separate items.

Size can be an important consideration as well. Someone with waist length hair will need a bigger or stronger type crimper than someone who has shorter, fine hair. You have to consider not only hair length but thickness as well when choosing the style and size of this and other hair styling tools. You might want to have a smaller version for travel, especially if you regularly toss one in your gym bag or an overnight suitcase for short trips. If you are going to be staying for a longer period of time, you might take your regular crimper with you so that you are comfortable and happy with the tool you are using.  Your crimping iron will be one of the first things you reach for in the morning when you get ready for the day or in the evening when you are getting ready to go out.
