If you've been looking through your local classifieds for housing,Furnished Apartments: What Do You Get? Articles you've likely come across at least two broad categories. One large one, which is labeled "unfurnished", and a much smaller one, which is labeled "furnished apartments". The latter promises to be filled with furniture, although what type of furniture can differ substantially from one place to the next. These places are perfect for those who have no interest in spending a fortune on their own furnishings or who don't plan to stay in place for long enough to warrant an investment in a bed, couch, and so forth. Here's a look at this category of rented housing. Features Furnished apartments are not all created equally. This is not really a regulated advertisement, meaning what it means to various landlords is going to differ quite a lot. While you should never choose a place to live without taking a tour anyway, you should definitely never pick a place without knowing what is to be included. Making assumptions is always a bad idea, especially in this case. Having said that, most housing of this nature is going to include at least one bed, a couch, some tables, and a refrigerator. Others may go the extra mile and provide a TV, a dishwasher, and even kitchen accessories like pots and pans. Categories Within the larger genre of furnished apartments are a number of different subsets, each of which you'll need to familiarize yourself with before going on your search. An efficiency is going to be little more than a single room, which will function as your kitchen, bed, and living room all at once. These can be cramped, but perfect for those who have little to spend on rent and just need a place to stay. Duplex housing can be split between floors, keeping the general living space downstairs and the bedrooms on top. Benefits When it comes to benefits, it's all about convenience. You don't have to worry about renting furniture from a separate company and returning it when you're done with it. You don't have to worry about scouring the city for your own furniture. It's all included. If you need something more (a television, a computer desk, etc.), it's a lot easier to simply buy those items and add them into the mix. Of course, the downside is that you don't get much choice. If you don't like the style of the couch, you are stuck with it until you move out. But such is the life of living in furnished apartments and it is a disadvantage many are more than content to live with.
