Tips on Writing Messages for Party Greeting Cards

When it comes to sending a personal message in a greeting card, most people feel tongue tied.

Whether it’s a group of friends, business colleagues or just family, putting words down in a ‘propah’ manner is not everyone’s cup of tea. Here are some tips to help you send out perfect party greeting cards.

First, keep in mind that writing party greeting cards is a wonderful way to express your affection. This is particularly true of birthday greeting cards. That being the case, the most important aspect of your party greeting cards is the ‘voice’ of the card.

Before you decide on how to construct those stubborn, stuck-in-the-throat phrases, ask yourself a few important questions:

* What is the occasion?

* Is it formal or informal?

* What is the target age group?

* What information is absolutely essential? (date, time, venue, occasion, how to get there, dress code and so on)

Informal events are easier to pen. You can allow your enthusiasm and warmth to seep in. While grammatical correctness is important, you can afford to use informal phrases. Some examples: ‘See you there’, ‘Let’s set the floor on fire’, ‘Shake it up’.

Formal party greeting cards are somewhat trickier. These are models of correctness. They need to be because your reputation is at stake. Formal parties are generally about business networking. So, your words represent you. If you really find it difficult to write the words, it is better to state the purpose and other details in a straightforward manner. Some points to keep in mind are:

* No abbreviations should be used. Spell out names. Use full names.

* Spell out the day and date. Specify whether the party is in the morning or evening.

* If the venue is some place new, give sufficient directions.

In the past, most people used to send out party greeting cards by snail mail. Today however, electronic greeting cards exist to make life easy for party hosts. With electronic greeting cards, you simply need to fill in the details. Most of the message will be written though there is be an option for you to add a personal message, if you so wish, which is a good idea. Electronic party greeting cards will also have an option for RSVPs.

An interesting aspect of electronic greeting cards is that these make it extremely easy for people to send out charity invites. These invites have just the right wordings to express the information that invitees need. They will also have associated links so that recipients can easily make their donation if they wish to.

Writing party greeting cards is not a difficult task. Take a look at related websites and you can easily come up with killer phrases and beautiful expressions.
