Claustrophobia Treatments - Neuro-Linguistic Programming & Hypnotism

Claustrophobia is defined as a fear of confined or enclosed spaces. Claustrophobia is a common condition that affects people of all ages. It influences people in a variety of different situations, and when triggered, it may make someone feel scared and worried. To cure this fear, hypnotherapy techniques provide phenomenal results to sufferers who who hate being discouraged by their feelings.

People with claustrophobia have fears involving small spaces or areas where it may be difficult to escape quickly, for example, elevators, airplanes or trains. Some people even feel claustrophobic inside MRI medical scanners. Due to their feelings, people with claustrophobia often attempt to stay away from closed-off places. Sufferers also try to linger near entrances or along the walls of a room, versus being in the center. Claustrophobic people often experience anxiety attacks when they start to feel "trapped" or enclosed. For some people, being in a tight place is as distressing as being buried alive.

Having a panic attack in a crowded space can be a scary incident for claustrophobic people and people around them. At the moment when an individual's claustrophobia is triggered, they will often suffer anxiety attacks, shortness of breath, nausea, fainting, and other, often extreme, reactions. One may get claustrophobia at any time or due to a traumatic incident, but its onset frequently occurs at a young age.

Claustrophobia can be triggered by many different situations, which may vary from person to person. For instance, some people might only feel panicky while riding a lift, while other people find that crowds trigger their condition. In any situation, claustrophobia and other phobias tend to interfere with people's daily lives and happiness. Phobia sufferers frequently develop avoidant behaviors and experience a decreased quality of life as they arrange their daily lives around their fears.

For some claustrophobes, the aspect of humiliation or embarrassment over their phobia is as difficult as the the phobic condition itself. Many phobia sufferers know that their feelings are exaggerated and illogical, but cannot seem to stay in control. The reason why is that phobias are rooted deep within the unconscious, which no amount of conscious effort can be fully effective in controlling. This poses a special challenge to the control of phobias.

Claustrophobia can be treated with anti-anxiety drugs or therapy. Hypnosis is an excellent, non-invasive, safe form of therapy with no harmful side effects. It works by targeting the root causes of fear in the unconscious to rapidly eliminate a phobia. In particular, a system that uses Ericksonian hypnosis techniques and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) can be used to cure a phobia. This incredible program uses numerous hypnosis techniques to help people beat their fears.

The first phase in curing a phobia is helping the phobia sufferer become relaxed and stress-free. Hypnosis therapy has long been used as a form of stress-relief therapy, to help people clear their minds and calm down.

Conventional hypnosis has used direct, post-hypnotic suggestions to help treat phobias. The drawback of the direct approach is that the conscious mind tends to resist being merely "told" what to do. Many people throw up mental barriers to acceptance of suggestions. In modern days, people of all ages are particularly likely to ignore direct suggestions because we tend to be independent minded people who question authority.

The essence of hypnosis is relaxation. Once in the calm state, rather than using direct suggestions, a different approach called systematic desensitization can often help eliminate a phobia using visual cues.

Ericksonian hypnotherapy uses a more refined approach than conventional hypnosis. It uses indirect suggestions hidden in captivating stories and metaphors to engage the unconscious and convince it to follow a desirable, phobia-free line of thought. Because indirect suggestions don't need to be tailored for a single phobia like direct post-hypnotic suggestions do, one good Ericksonian hypnosis therapy program will work to beat any phobia or even more than one phobia at a time.

NLP, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, is an innovative form of therapy that many well trained hypnotherapists have adopted. The most effective NLP technique for curing a phobia is known as the Visual - Kinesthetic Disassociation, also called V/K. The V/K is called the one session phobia cure, and for good reason. Phobic or panic reactions (attacks) occur because traumatic experiences are associated with and triggered by mental imagery. With the V/K, the stressful experiences are disassociated from the mental imagery - often in one quick session, and the fear is virtually gone.

People fighting with claustrophobia can find rapid relief by using hypnotherapy. The combination of Ericksonian hypnosis therapy and NLP techniques will help anyone fight their fears. Hypnotherapy has helped countless sufferers feel confident and secure in situations where earlierFree Web Content, they would've completely broken down. Hypnosis therapy techniques have provided phenomenal benefits for sufferers of phobias and continue to enhance lives each and every day.
