Dorset life-coaching expert Sue Terry has told of her formula for good relationship counselling as nearly half of marriages in Britain end in divorce eventually.

The Dorset- based life coaching guru revealed that talking openly in a neutral and non-judgemental environment is vitally important if partners are to feel comfortable speaking openly about issues within a relationship.

Sue,Dorset life coaching guru reveals formula to help relationships Articles who runs Dorset life coaching firm New Horizons, said that relationships break down for many reasons including: loss of trust or respect, stress at work or within the family, feelings of 'growing apart' or often just a lack of good communication.

Secondly, a good counsellor should help to develop a client’s listening skills so that he or she can effectively empathise with their partner’s feelings – helping to find some common ground, Sue said.

The final stage of this kind of life-coaching is the progression phase: couples must look to the future in order to realise their values, dreams and aspirations.

Sometimes this isn’t possible to achieve and partners will choose to separate, although in many cases this can be a constructive move and should not always be viewed negatively, Sue stressed.

Many lifestyle watchers blame the fast pace of modern life for the breakdown of the more traditional family, which was formerly a dominant feature of middle class British life.

It would seem that life coaching in Dorset and other classic areas of middle England is definitely here to stay, according to some sources.

Sue, who has many years of experience running life-coaching courses in Dorset, said: “"I've been through divorce, raised three children, and integrated two families within a new relationship - so I understand the issues and emotions that people face.

“I want to give people new confidence, new goals and new hope for the future.”
