The use of body piercing jewelry has a long history among the early inhabitants of the earth. 

Historian and archeologist have been involved in the study of body piercing information sources. The early recordings bear very little information on the body piercing and its purpose. However, archeologists have found many jewels in ancient graves with little proof on how they were used by the wearers. More recent records bear information on the use of body piercing and also try to shed light as to why it was used.

 Body piercing jewelry has been used for almost all parts of the body start from the head all the way to the feet including the private parts of the body. Ear piercing was used all over the world many years ago as part of culture of the people. Records of the use of body piercing jewelry including earrings are found in many records including the bible and other religious books and many other archeological discoveries which show that they were in use many thousand years ago. Indications of use of body piercing jewelry have been found in almost all the continents of the world.

Body piercing Jewelry was used to modify the head skulls in some regions of Australia and lip stretching in North Africa. Some of the body piercing was done during ritual ceremonies and blood offerings. The ear piercing jewelry was used to depict status symbol in terms of wealth possession in some communities.  Wearing of earrings was reported to have been in use in many parts of the world by various communities including the nobles. Sailors used them with a belief that their vision in the sea would be greatly enhanced by piercing one ear and placing a ring. At some point, history indicated that more men used ear rings than women. However a bigger number of women later came up to adopt the use of the earring jewels.

Today, there are more people wearing body piercing jewelry than any other time in history. Many piercing tools are in employment to perforate the body parts to allow the placement of the jewels. These tools include; piercing guns, cork for receiving the piercing needle, tubes, forceps and anesthesia among many others.

In conclusion, it has become evident to many people that the use of body piercing jewelry which is widely accepted, will continue to be used now and in future. You can easily become the cynosure of all eyes when you put on the jewelry products in any occasion you attend.
