Reaching a High Keyword Ranking Takes a Well-Planned and Executed Action Plan

Why are they more profitable?If you were to rank for the keyword “golf” it would be very difficult to make money because you have no idea what the searcher is looking for. They could be trying to find PGA tour scores, golf clubs, golf courses in their area, etc. 

But if somebody types in “cheap Mizuno golf clubs for sale” you would know exactly what they were looking for. Therefore, you would have a better chance of selling them something. The latter term would also be much easier to reaching a high keyword ranking for.

#2) Action
Once you know the terms you are going for, you have to take action to get ranked. The first thing you need is a good domain name. The best domain names will have your primary target keyword in them, because Google tends to rank these sites more easily. Sometimes it is possible to rank for a keyword simply because the term is in the domain name, without doing anything else.

After that, you need to get quality backlinks. The top link sources are article directories, forums and blogs, and you should focus on these. If you write quality content for these sources, you can actually get traffic from them, in addition to receiving SEO benefit. You can also establish your reputation as an expert on the subject.

You also need to have good on-page content. No matter how many quality backlinks you have, without great content you still will not make money. Having good content can also encourage other webmasters to link to you.

Ranking in the search engines requires you to first plan out which terms you are going to target. After this, then it is just a matter of getting quality backlinks, along with having good content. Use these tips, and you will be that much closer toreaching a high keyword ranking.
