While truth builds up the spirit, falsehood does the opposite by sinking it into a spiritual abyss beyond the awareness of most people. Falsehood creates unseen loads that weigh heavily on its orignators, before or even after physical death.

One attribute that dignifies man the most is honesty. On the long run,Freedom Resides With Those Who Walk And Live In Truth Articles or eternal scale, nothing delivers a man's spirit like truth. Truth is the center point of this article! A wise man of time past, Henry David Thoreau said, "Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth". Another man said, "Truth is the property of no individual but is the treasure of everybody" (Ralph Emerson). The real nature of the human spirit is capable of recognizing ultimate truth and reality when it sees it. While truth builds the spirit up, falsehood sinks it into a spiritual abyss beyond the awareness of most people. Falsehood creates unseen loads that weigh heavily on its orignators, before or even after physical death.

A lifestyle of falsehood is a lifestyle of bondage. Contrary to the opinion of some people, anybody who is not in the truth, is not a free man. There are those who don't only tell lies, but they live deeply in lies. That is about the highest form of bondage on earth and in eternity. Don't pretend to be who you're not; to have the skin of Esau but the voice of Jacob; to be a wolf on the inside but a sheep on the outside; to give an impression that isn't a part of your constitution. You can't live in two worlds at the same time; don't try to be something at one time and place (maybe among people who trust in you) and be something else at another time and place. To live a life of temporal physical contradictions is to literally build up eternal spiritual frustration. The biblical scriptures were right when it said, "Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free" (John 8: 32). It referred to spiritual freedom which is the greatest and most lasting (eternal) type of freedom a human being can, and should aspire to.

The Spirit of GOD, the Holy Spirit, Who is the Spirit of truth, is a companion of those who walk and live in the truth. To walk and live in the truth therefore, is to walk in anointing and freedom. Lies frustrate the activities of the Holy Spirit in your life and give opportunity for the father of all lies (Satan, the devil) to work in your life. My advice is: (i) Whatever it costs you to tell the truth, tell it even when lying appears safer. You will always pay for every lie you tell but GOD will always defend the truthful. (ii) Every lie you said in the past can be corrected, go ahead and correct it because it will reinforce your change. (iii) Submit yourself to GOD for the grace of honesty, and resist the operation of the spirit of lying in your life.
