Some people tend to walk with a cloud above their head. Always in a bad mood, thinking about what is wrong in their lives and avoid making changes because they think of the negative outcome that may come. I must admit it, we must try to anticipate what may come ahead but; you have to be careful if you only see the dark side of things.

When you anticipate the future in your head and all you can come up with is a negative outcome. You are unconsciously setting yourself up for failure. Before you even try! Why? Since you are already convince that your goal is not attainable,Pessimist Mildred and Optimist Mildred Articles you won’t even bother trying. Why waste your energy? Right! For a better explanation here is an example of a pessimist and another from an optimist’s perspective:

Scenario

Mildred wants to start the business of her dreams but, knows that she is lacking many of the required skill to be successful in her quest.

Pessimist Mildred thinks
I am not qualified to run this type of business therefore; I would fail terribly if I try.

Optimist Mildred Thinks
I don’t have some of the required skills but I can learn them by attending seminars, taking some courses, buying how to books etc. I know I can do anything I put my mind into.

Did you notice the difference? Pessimist Mildred can not see outside her cloud and keeps walking feeling sorry for her self. While optimist Mildred saw her shortcomings also but, came up with a solution to the problem. Instead of moping around she decides to take action and make the necessary changes required and conquers her dream.

Now which Mildred do you want to be?
