Jake Shannon is the Libertarian candidate for Congressional District 3 (the as-of-yet nonexistent district). He has some pretty standard right-wing views on most issues, but when it comes to social policies, like same-sex marriage, he’s surprising everyone.In 2012 (when the congressional 3rd district may become a reality), Mr. Shannon plans to run on a platform of full equality – which would be a far cry from Orrin Hatch and Jason Chafetz.In an interview with cityweekly writer Josh Loftin, he said:"The state should be out of marriage laws.
