My ex wants me back! Or does HE/She?

Breaking up with a boyfriend/or girlfriend is never easy, for many it can be one of the most painful emotional experiences of their lives. Making up and getting back together when your ex is showing signs of reconnecting, is going to be a natural reaction, but make sure your ex REALLY wants to get back together.

Going through a break up is never easy, and the longer you've been together the harder it can be. This is especially true for couples that have been together for lengths over a year. You have fond memories of each other and the times you have spent together, so you are naturally going to miss each other. But how do you know if your ex boyfriend/girlfriend really wants to get back together with you, or are they just playing games?

There are times when your ex may show signs of wanting to get back together, and he/or she may actually be missing you. after all you have spent some special times together. You have come to know each other very well, and you've gone through some good times as well as hard times. And yes, hard the times can be just as special as the good times, in that hard times draw you closer together as a couple and contribute to building a strong relationship.

So... One of the first things to consider when trying to determine if your ex really wants you back is:

How strong was your relationship?
The strength of the relationship you had with your ex is a big factor to consider when determining if he/or she is sincere about getting back together or just stringing you along. If the relationship was not very strong at the time of the break up, then making up and getting back together may not be the best thing to do. Unless your sure you can work together to build a strong union, you might want to move on. However; If you had a strong relationship at the time of the break up your ex may be true in wanting to make up.

What caused the break up?
The cause of your break up is another big thing to consider. How severe was the cause of the break up? If you broke up over something small that is easily forgivable and forgettable, Then your ex is probably sincere in showing signs of getting back together, and sitting down and talking about may easily reunite the two of you. But if the break up was over something more serious (particularly if you were at fault).
There is a chance that your ex may want revenge, and want to break your heart as bad as you broke his/or hers.

Who initiated the break up?
If you are the one who initiated the break up, then your ex probably did not want to break up to begin with, and the signs they are showing to get back together with you hold more merit. But if they initiated the break up, they may know that you still love them, and they may just be trying to get attention, without really wanting to get you back. So, unless your ex really seems genuinely interested in spending time with you, they may just be passing the time because they have regrets with no other prospects on the horizon at this time. This is why it is important not to jump the gun, and why you should consider all the circumstances of the break up, before you assume that your ex is sincere in wanting to make up and get back together.

If your ex is showing you sincere interest, or seems more interested in going out and spending time with you than before, or if you notice signs that your ex is truly honest about getting back together, then it's okay to be a little hopeful but "play hard to get" until your sure. If your ex really does want to make up and get back together, they will be patient until you come around. If they do not really want to get back together, they will lose interest and move on if you wont play their game.
