It is safe to wash the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gi daily, after every use. This game involves too much of sweating and there will be wrestling actions. Thus, you have to wash it thoroughly to avoid the spread of infection or diseases. Remember that you will also have been in close contact with other players. Thus such washing is surely needed.

Fading of the colors of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gi will be inevitable if you do not wash it properly. Maintenance of the Gi and washing has to be done properly. A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gi of only one color tends to be dyed heavily, so you should do some pre-treatment by washing it with 3 cups of white vinegar. Do this to avoid the color from fading.

The belts also come with corresponding measurements with respect to their width. A practitioner with a white belt must have a belt that is 5cm wide. Two knots will be made to secure the belt around the waist. The standard length of the jacket should be down to the thighs. The pants and the jacket should have the same color. Wearing a black pair of pants with a blue jacket will disqualify any competitor or practitioner in a match.
