Fundamental Gear for Playing Paintball

I’m going to talk to you about the most important gear that you’re going to need to have to play paintball. I’m not going to talk to you about the need to have a paintball marker because that it is incredibly obvious. The thing that most people overlook (especially new people) is the need to be safe. Everyone seems to forget that a paintball can be a very dangerous thing to hit you. If it ever hit you in the eye, you’ll never see out of it again. I could hardly imagine what would happen if one just happened to go in your mouth. I’m going to show you the gear you need.

A full helmet is something that you should have. For some reason people don’t. They’ll just get the facemask, which protects the face area. Obviously that covers the most important safety concerns like the eyes, nose and mouth. The problem is that you could very easily be hit in the temple or the ear. And yes, even the back of your head. A full helmet is going to cover your entire head, so if you get shot from any angle, it isn’t going to cause any sort of damage or safety concern.

You should also look into getting a throat guard. Most people have their neck wide open for a shot and it doesn’t feel nice getting hit here. It’s one of those areas that are hard to protect too. You’re supposed to keep your chin tucked in, so your throat isn’t exposed. But you still have to consider if you were flanked you wouldn’t be protected.
