The New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees Who Are We chant is certainly a distinctive way of rallying the troops before game time. He has invented the chant as a means of firing up team unity as kick off approaches and it seems to be an integral part to the Saints winning formula. So what exactly are these words of wisdom that have so inspired his teammates to a perfect start to the season?

There is some conjecture on Saints forums as to the exact wording of the Drew Brees Who Are We song.  One post claims it is:1,Who are we Dree Brees? Articles 2, Win, For You3, 4, Win, Some More5, 6, Win, Again7, 8, Win, Great9, 10, Win, Again, Again, Again, Again, Again!Whilst another states:One two win, for you,Three, four, win, some more,Five, six, win again,7, 8, win again,9, 10, win again, win again, win again...Whichever option you agree with the truth of the matter is the Saints Quarterback is central to the team bonding and right amongst the players where other NFL QB's would fear to tread.  Consider for example the case of the former Falcons and Colts QB Jeff George.  Here was a guy who was standoffish and considered selfish by his fellow teammates.  More recently you have Michael Vick who, other scandal aside, is sure to have heard the mantra from coaches that there is no 'I in Team'.Brees is different to many NFL Quarterbacks in that he wants to be at the heart of the team, mucking in with every member, no matter what the skill level, to ensure the Saints are united going into each game.  As can be seen by the Drew Brees chant the Saints QB has a clear understanding of what helps to unite so many individuals to a common focus and then sets out to lead his team by example on the field.  At the half way point in the season he had the best Quarterback rating in the NFL and had thrown for the most touchdowns as the Saints led the league with a point differential of 67 more than their closest competitors the Minnesota Vikings.  So whether it is the chant that inspires or merely the pressence of their Quarterback at the heart of it something is working for the benefit of the team.  Come Super Bowl time it will be interesting to see whether the Drew Brees rallying call is on the field in Miami.
