The New Orleans Saints, or as my mum would call them, the New Orlean Saints, are my team. I have loved and supported since I was knee high to a grass hopper. I felt I should share that truth with you before we go much further.

My relationship with the Saints has led to an equal helping of pain and joy over the years.  It helps explain why I look forward to the winter months despite my loathing of the cold.  It also helps explain my deep respect for a player who often suffers from some mixed press but who I fully support because of the excitement he can generate at any given time.  I am of course talking about Saints running back ace Mr Reggie Bush. The Reggie Bush highlights reelReggie has his critics but personally I think it’s great that this supreme athlete is on the Saints roster.  At times this season he has put in some indifferent displays however it can reasonably be argued that is down to limited possession of the ball than any lack of effort on Reggie’s part.  Given the huge array of weapons at the Saints disposal it’s hardly surprising that he has to share time with so many teammates,Reggie Bush is just getting started Articles after all the Saints are no man team like the Steven Jackson Rams for example.  That said he has had his moments and I firmly believe the best may yet be in store as the season hots up in the coming weeks. The Reggie Bush speed dial is set to fastWhen looking through any Reggie Bush highlights from high school or college one of the first things you notice is that the guy can clearly throw moves that most other backs can only dream about and all at incredible speed.  His running style has thrilled crowds across the US and left countless defenders in his trail but still he has his critics in the media.  They argue that he is not an every down back and ask why, if he’s so great, he can’t be more dominant.  The first thing I say to them is what does it matter so long as he is making a positive contribution to the Saints team and keeping opposing defenders distracted by his very presence.  Sure he does not dominate games as some great backs have been known to do but that is not his game.  He is an explosive impact player, not a 30 carries a game kind of guy.  Also it’s worth noting that he is a consummate professional who does whatever coach Payton asks of him for the good of the team.Unlike some big name players with ego’s to match he is not constantly talking to the press about his lack of playing time.  Instead he simply gets on with the business of helping the Saints team in anyway his talent allows whether it be receiving, returning punts or running the ball.  He is effectively the type of luxury every team head coach would love to have in their roster.  The Famous New Orleans Saints offence is full of weaponsThe Saints offence has so many weapons to call upon at any one time they can afford to use Reggie more sparingly than most teams would.  When his number is called upon however, he is always poised and ready to deliver as witnessed in recent games against the Dolphins and Rams.  I’m hoping, no expecting, that there is more of the Reggie Bush we saw against the Minnesota Vikings last season to come this year.  If he can deliver anything like the returns he made so famously on Monday Night Football that may go someway to placating his critics.  So long as he remains healthy and available out of the back field I for one will definitely not be complaining especially if helps the Saints finally win the big one after all these years.  Cheers Reggie, keep on trucking.
