Amongst the dozens of plain,A Closer Look At The Overall Design Of The Brilliant Nokia X5 Articles black fronted mobile phones currently available it takes something a little bit different to stand out from the crowd.  Rather than opting to play it safe it needs a manufacturer to take a risk a produce a handset that is unlike any other, a model to catch the eye and turn heads.  It seems that mobile phone veterans Nokia have decided that they are that manufacturer by releasing the X5 handset, a model that takes on a square design with a choice of bright colours.  So exactly how does this model differ in terms of looks from your more conventional handsets.I think the word the best describes the Nokia X5 is cute.  The unusual shape can hardly by labelled as sleek or cutting edge.  The neat size together with the choice of colours however will see the model strike a cord with a predominantly female market, especially in the 16-30 year old age bracket.  This market is heavily influenced by looks and demand a model that is compact enough to slip inside the smallest of handbags, something which can be said of the X5.  The range of colours that this model is available in reinforces its projected audience with a choice of purple, pink, blue and green available in addition to the standard black.  Despite the phone being so compact when you look at it for the first time it is evident that it inherits the build quality of other models within the manufacturers range.  A nice blend of plastic together with metal elements make the phone not only feel well constructed but give it a rigidity that should see it outlast many other more cheaply made models.  In order to keep the physical dimensions of the Nokia X5 down to a minimum, the manufacturers have located the keys on a slider mechanism which is an area that often lets down other models.  Just like the overall build quality however it is pleasing to see the this mechanism not only feels smooth but also very solid.  So we have established that this "cute" little phone is actually quite a beast in the build quality department but what about its actual design, does the square shape work?  At 74.3 x 66.4 x 16.9 mm the phone is a perfect size which still manages to accommodate a relatively large screen of 2.36 inches.  This screen sits centrally on the fascia of the phone with the ear piece and the manufacturers names sitting above it and below it a set of keys including a directional button.    This looks neats and thanks to the bars above and below the screen allows the colour of the chassis to be evident from the front, an area where many modern smartphones suffer thanks to the screen taking up the whole front panel.  The back panel keeps things simple with the camera lens being the only obtrusion on the otherwise colorful back panel.  The design is simple and although it will not appeal to everybody, it quirkiness should appeal to a certain type of user. The Nokia X5, complete withs its modern and stylish design and multitude of colour options will be launched by Nokia very soon. The Nokia X5 and the LG Optimus Pad are coming soon.
