You may really love video games. And you may have some experience in programming. The idea of creating your own video game may have come to mind. While this was always a possibility for anyone with the right skills and determination,Creating Your Own Video Game: Is it Possible? Articles it has now become much easier to both create games and to make money from them. Here are some general steps to take if you want to create your own game.

1.     Think of an idea for your game

This is the first step in the Game Developmentprocess and is actually the most important. What kind of game will you want to create? Will it be a driving game? A simulation? A war game? Or a role playing game? There are dozens of different game types and hundreds of sub-genres. You would need to choose from one of those and then move on to the details. What will the story line be? What will the characters be and what can they do in the game? You should thoroughly think this over before moving on to the next step.

2.     Think of a platform for your game

If you are an independent game developer and are working by yourself or maybe with one or two friends, you should consider developing games for mobile platforms such as the iPhone or Android operating systems, or games that can be playable online. While it may be possible to develop downloadable games for the PC, it is not recommended as you would face stiff competition from gaming studios that have multi million dollar budgets and an entire team of game QAexperts at their disposal.

3.     Consider whether you want to make money from your game

Monetizing your game has become much easier in the online world. For example, you can make it available on the Apple App Store for a small fee such as $2.99. Many users who find it interesting might buy it. You can also put it up on a website and make it available for free, then set up a donation button so that those who like your games can contribute a few dollars. You can even make the first few chapters of a game free, and then charge a small fee for those who want to continue playing. Be aware that if profit is your motivation, you probably won't become a millionaire from developing a small game yourself (although it IS possible – just highly unlikely).

4.     Gather all the required tools and start developing your game

There are plenty of game development as well as Video Game Testingtools that can help you develop and debug your game. Find those that can be useful for you and learn how to use them to their fullest advantage. It may take some time before you create a fully playable game, but you must remember to persevere and you will probably make it.
