Two hundred years ago,Energy Crisis: are we lacking resources Articles the world experienced an energy revolution but today the situation is completely different. The world is faced with severe energy crisis. The supplies of gas, oil, power are limited and their consumption is extremely dangerous to our health and our environment. Their price increased considerably in the last few years. An electricity shortage is felt mostly by those who depend on electricity for their heating, lighting, cooking…Most people reject these fact as unessential. But when we look back in the past we can see that world faced with three major energy crisis – 1973 oil crisis, 1979 energy crisis and 1990 oil-price hike.

Energy consumption is increasing every day since needs are bigger and bigger. This causes shortage of energy sources. Statistic says that 50 % of available oil has already been exhausted. The rest supplies will last the next 32 years. What will happen then? Even the current generations are faced with the lack of energy sources. And this problem is not just temporary. It is getting worse.

What are we going to do?

First of all, we must not ignore the fact that non-renewable energy sources are getting close to their end. We have to minimize usage of oil, gas or any other fuel. Thus their supplies will last a little longer. Then we can do some small things as well. We can switch off our car engines when on traffic lights, we can save energy. Just think how much do we use gas or oil in everyday activities.

We have some others alternatives.

We must start using solar and wind energy. Their supplies are inexhaustible; they are environmental friendly, not expensive, clean and safe for our health. Thus we are making this world better place for living.
