For a time the cell phone was perhaps considered a plaything of the wealthy and a tool for businesses but not anymore with it fast becoming the most important piece of technology you can own. Modern children have grown up with the cell phone as part of their lives and do not understand that many of us grew up safely and happy without the need for them, although the majority parents believe that their child will remain safe while they own one.
There was a time not that many years ago when for a while the cell phone just might have failed but it has re-invented itself to become the most important of technological developments n the twentieth century. Many parents convince themselves that their children must have one for safety but in reality it is usually so the children are not looked own upon by their friends. It is true that no-one expected the popularity of cell phones to be what it is today. It is the number of functions that can be added to the cell phone that puts it ahead of its landline based cousin. The ring tone and cellular phone wallpaper market (screen background) is huge but it does allow each cell phone to be customized to suit the user.
The internet has been a big help with obtaining wallpaper directly available online. Although over recent years, the transfer of images has been getting easier between phones, with the advent of decent cameras built into the phone, any image can be used as screen wallpaper. This new technology also allows for any type of digital image to be transferred, once uploaded, to your cell phone.
Cleverly, it is now possible to add your own text to your cellular phone wallpaper as well. Those people that have older models may not be able to do this but it really shouldn't matter or make you feel as if you are missing out on something. There is no need to be overly concerned if you cannot alter your wallpaper because it may be possible for you to change the ring tone which will still personalize your phone for you. For a small number of cell phone users, none of this will matter at all because they only need the phone to make calls and the occasional SMS message.
The functionality of the cell phone should not come second to customization and new backgrounds will not help you send an urgent text or call will they? I suppose it is nice to be able to customize with cellular phone wallpapers but wouldn't you prefer one that worked as well and didn't just impress other people? Many people become angry by others use of phones so remember that you have a responsibility to others when you make a call. Your phone should complement you and not be an extension of yourself as it you that people will decide whether or not has any social etiquette.
Even if your phone does not include such high technology and innovative features, if you can turn off your phone during meetings and avoid having to annoy the other person in front of you, you are exhibiting a personality that is intrinsic in you. You never know by having respect for others feelings, they may follow your lead and do the same. Respect and good telephone etiquette are a way to show others by example and should lead or shame them into doing the same.
