The last option is the lithium-ion batteries. These batteries are rechargeable, they are light and they produce a lot of energy. However, they are more expensive than the other two options and they will last for a longer period.

You should make some considerations before buying batteries for your digital camera. When you want to use the camera for only a short time, then the alkali batteries would be the best option because they are cheap. However, if you will be using the camera on a regular basis then the Ni-MH batteries should be the best option. The other factor that you should consider is the power of the batteries. The voltage of a battery mostly determines this since most of the batteries will have almost the same current ratings. Voltage will affect the power of a battery because power is the product of voltage and current. Remember that your digital camera will need to have a certain amount of power supply for it to function properly. Otherwise, you might not be able to use some functionality options like the flash.

The last aspect of using the batteries would be to take good care of the batteries. If you are using alkali batteries, you should remove them from them from the digital camera before storing the camera. If your camera uses lithium ion batteries, you should discharge them because this will only spoil them. However, if you know that you will not be using the camera for a period of more than four weeks, you should remove the battery and keep it in a cool and dry place.
