How to Update Eonon Android 4.2 Car DVD to 4.4 OS system?

Some of our customers have bought our Android 4.2 Car DVD Players, and now they ask us if they can update the 4.2 to 4.4. I would like to tell you that we have software to update the system to 4.4. Usually it's not recommended to update the Android 4.2 unit to 4.4, since it may have risk to damage the unit, hope you can understand. If you really want, please follow the below steps to update it. But please kindly note that we are not responsible for the result if your Android Car DVD Players does not work after updating, hope you can understand, thanks!

1. Please enter the factory setting before updating, you need to remember all the settings first, you can take some pictures to keep them, since the factory setting may be lost after updating. What’s more, just in case, if you want to update it back to 4.2 system, you also need to set it back to the original settings.

1. Please download the updated file from this link.

1. Please decompress the updated file and copy these two files to a SD card: update.im
   mcu.img.

1. Then turn off the unit and insert the SD card to the unit's GPS SD card slot.

1. Turn on the unit, it will auto update.

1. After finishing updating, it will beep one time and go to black screen.

Then you take out the SD card and turn on the unit.

Attention: Please do not cut off the power and take out the SD card during updating. It may take a long time for update, so please pay more patience on it. And please follow the way to update it strictly.

Sometimes, there are some customers are confused that what’s the different between D5163ZU Mazda 3 Navigation and D5163Z. I would like to tell you that they are the same unit. The only difference is that D5163ZU comes with USA/Canada map. D5163Z does not comes with map. The letter U means USA/Canada map, if you choose Australia map, the item name will be D5163ZA, if you choose Western Europe map, the item name will be D5163ZE. Haha, thanks for your understanding.
