These two handsets HTC Desire and HTC Wildfire have many similarities and differences. Desire was one to be unleashed. It was launched first and later its cheaper  and smaller version Wildfire came into existence. With such great metamorphosis HTC has set the mobile industry on fire. When the two handsets were closely examined then various similarities and differences were found.

Desire and Wildfire both are working on operating system version 2.1 of ANDROID. This operating is also called Eclair. Wildfire has a TFT capacitive touch screen that measures 3.2 inches. It gives out a resolution of   240 x 320 pixels. On the other hand the Desire has a 3.7 inch  AMOLED capacitive touch screen. This is certainly larger than that of Wildfire. But screen of both the handsets can support 16 M colours.

One of the major differences is in the processors that are used in both the handsets. HTC Desire has Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor which runs at a speed of 1 GHz. On the contrary HTC Wildfire has Qualcomm's MSM 7225 528 chip. This chip makes the handset work with a comparatively lower speed than Desire that is 528 MHz.

Coming to the storage capacities of the two being discussed. Wildfire has an internal memory of 384 MB. However, Desire has 576 MB of phone memory. The memory of both the phones can be increased using a micro SD card. The memory of both can be increased up to 32 GB. The difference is that dDesire brings a 4 GB card with every purchase but Wildfire does not. Both the handsets are very similar in connectivity. The connectivity devices are  WLAN WiFi 802.11 b/g, 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, GPRS and EDGE. Choosing between these two handsets is a really a tough job, but if you manage to choose then that is the handset which should become your next mobile phone.
