Blackberry has launched Passport at an event in Toronto, Dubai and London. The company has also mentioned the price of the smartphone, Blackberry CEO says that it is priced for for Rs. 36,500 for its unlock version in US. With the launch of this square shaped Blackberry passport, Blackberry has win over the enterprise market.
The device has a 4.5” display with touch screen sensitive keyboard. The Blackberry passport will be available in Canada, France, Germany and UK. It will be priced for Rs. 38400 in Canada, Rs. 50,500 in France and Rs. 54700 in UK.
This newly launched handset is meant for the high profile executives and elite business class persons. This handset is available in U.S and other markets like Canada, UK, France and Germany. It is available on Canada’s Telus for Rs. 11000. After that it will be available for Rs.13700 and later on US for Rs.15200. This time Blackberry is coming in more than 30 countries like India, Vietnam, Belgium, Austria and Romania.
The CEO added that Blackberry Classic smartphone will be launched before the end of this year. This handset is the first phone in company’s line of products that has come up with Blackberry 10.3 OS onboard that has features like Blackberry Assistant, and new Blackberry Hub with instant actions. With Blackberry 10.3 OS users can get access to Amazon store app for Android.
Display
The biggest feature of this smartphone is 4.5” 1440*1440p resolution IPS LCD display. Its 3 line hardware keyboard with capacitive touch sensitivity enables the users to perform gestures, select auto-complete suggestions and scroll across lists.
Blackberry is claimed to have a superior call quality of Passport and detailing a microphone built into earpiece that detects ambient noise to give volume correct audio.
Camera and Processor
The device features a 2.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB built-in storage through micro SD card. The phones come with a 13 MP rear OIS camera with BSI sensor and 2MP front camera.
The phone measures 128*90.1*9.3mm and features a Nano-SIM card slot and when it comes to connectivity options included are Wi-Fi, bluetooth, Micro USB.
Battery and Operating system
It has a 450mAh battery and is believe to deliver 30 hours of mixed use battery life. Blackberry will work across desktop OS including the Mac OS*10.7 or higher, Windows as well as iPad tablets running on iOS 7.0 or may be higher and Android tablets running on Android 4.4 or may be more.
The Blackberry comes preloaded with Blackberry 10.3 OS, including features like Blackberry Assistant, Blackberry Blend and Amazon Appstore.
