One wheeled motorbikes,One Wheeled Motorbikes – Introduction Articles aka one wheeled motorcycles aka micro-cycles, are self balancing, battery powered unicycles intended for short distance commuting.  RYNO Motors developed this futuristic bike and is described by the company as “Half the bike, twice the fun.”  The RYNO bike can go up to 20 miles per hour and travel 30 miles on one charge.  Yes, I said charge – This is an environment friendly vehicle built with a zero pollutant five horse-power electric motor.   This is not intended to be a crotch rocket with 90 mph excursions but rather a more efficient way to travel, both from a maneuverability and an emissions perspective.

The one wheeled motorbike is intended to make short commutes fun, alleviate congested parking issues, and allow improved maneuvering over a Segway or a bicycle.  Imagine how much more maneuverability you’d have with just one wheel.  Yes, unicyclists have had this menaeuvaribility forever but now imagine having the unicycle balance for you.  This coupled with its small size, weighing only 125 lbs, allows users to bike directly into a subway, a train, down a hallway, up an elevator, and into the office.  Yes, this is indoor and outdoor friendly – something bicycles and segways may have trouble competing with.

These are awesome but don’t take my word for it.  Youtube “RYNO One Wheeled Motorbikes” and prepare to be amazed.  It’s funny that the whole idea for RYNO was born when the inventor’s (Chris Hoffman’s) 13 year old daughter asked if he could build something similar to what she saw in a video game.  Five years later, Chris is in the midst of launching production and sales of these head turning bikes.

Whether you’re looking to be a little greener and save gas money, look cooler or appear more futuristic, be able to chat with others on your commute to work, literally roll right into work, save on storage place by replacing your old bicycle, or just have some fun, the one wheeled motorbike is a must-see.  This product hasn’t even hit the market yet in the US (Although it’s supposed to in January 2013) and is already receiving a ridiculously large amount of press.  How often do you see something that is practical and looks cool?  RYNO motors is a company with lots of promise and lots of good ideas.  The one wheeled motorbike has a lot to offer and is bound to be a successful product.
