Having been created long before wrist watches, pocket watches have now become the most collectable of all jewelry.

People have always been fascinated with time and with the instruments of measuring it. High quality watches have always been appreciated and wanted by those who were passionate about them and could also afford them. It is well known that the value of a good watch can be higher than the value of a medium car. A watch is unlikely to ever loose its value. Even if the well known watch companies launch new designs the old ones will still be appreciated but in a different way. They will be considered retro and will be kept in collections or displayed at exhibitions or even worn with the right outfit. For a long time pocket watches have lost their popularity but this fact is about to change.

We all know that fashion is all about reinventing old trends. After all originality only comes this far and when you run out of inspiration you can always look in the past and you are sure to find something. Although a long time ago pocket watches were mostly used by gentleman, fashion designers are trying to bring them back in the shape of women necklaces. The watches look just as they used too, they can still show time but they are now used as a fashion accessory. The reinvention of this accessory soon had a lot of fans. Because women make an art out of accessories they are always looking for something new to freshen up an old outfit but in this case something old is just as good. Another way to wear pocket watches is around the waist. You attach a long necklace to it and use it as a belt. This way it highlights the waist and can make a simple dress look delicate and very stylish.

We know there will always be a gap between generations. Our elders will never understand how we can go out wearing ripped jeans but I am very curious what would our grandparents say if they saw us wearing their old pocket watches as belts.

So maybe you don’t have to be extremely rich and collect valuable pocket watches in order to understand their beauty. We can all agree that they are back and probably here to stay taking into account the increasing number of fans that they have. With that being said don’t hesitate to buy a few models to match your dresses or simply to look classy.
