Research In Motion (RIM) Ltd., one of the global leaders in wireless innovation, will be launching its Blackberry 10 OS after some delays in releasing of the said phone. RIM once ruled its field, with their products embraced by a lot of customers. However, RIM faced a few rough years, decreasing more than half of their market share in just half a year became a real dilemma for the company.
Azerspace-1/Africasat-1a Entered Full-Commercial Service
Launched last February 7, 2013 from the European Space Port, French Guiana, AZERSPACE-1/AFRICASAT-1a satellite, has successfully completed in-orbit testing and has entered full commercial service, Azercosmos Joint Stock Company and MEASAT Satellite Systems announced today.
Inmarsat Launched Three New Marine Antennas
The industry leader and pioneer of mobile satellite communications, Inmarsat's manufacturing partner, Intellian Technologies, has designed three new marine antennas to support FleetBroadband. Such marine antennas will be covering all three FleetBroadband services, namely, FB150, FB250 and FB500. Each antennas comes with a broad range of IP and network-related value-added features including, IP Routing, Firewall Capability and Vessel Fleet Tracking.
Baja Broadband Sold To TDS Telecom
In a deal worth $267.5 million, Telephone and Data System (TDS) Telecom acquired the ownership of Baja Broadband. TDS Telecom (headquartered in Madison, U.S.) said in a press release that Baja Broadband (Alamogordo, New Mexico) generated annual revenues of $82.4 million last year, has approximately 285 employees, and focuses on residential and commercial broadband services in Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and Utah.The purchase price is subjected to working capital and other adjustments. Regulatory approvals are still pending as the transaction is expected to close by the third quarter of 2013.
