Techniques to take top food pictures with digital cameras

Some people love to capture pictures of food. Most digital cameras have basic settings that can be amazing. Most people opt for techniques like the use of spray to waterproof fabrics on pancakes ("pancakes") to prevent the syrup ("syrup") is absorbed by this and look perfect crepes or use shoe dye to improve the appearance of a rotisserie chicken. Or use a scoop of mashed potatoes to simulate an ice cream scoop with a little motor oil on it to simulate the chocolate.

Most of us do not have the budget to hire one of these professionals, but also need to hire one to start in the field of food photography. You can select from basic digital cameras and get going! Here I will give you some tips to keep in mind when designing the presentation of food for a photograph:

§  Preparing the rack or "set" for photographs of food: We should not underestimate the background image as this plays an important role in image composition as in other types of photography. A background full of distractions may ruin your photo.

§  Fund or the background: You should create a fund or simple background with no distractions to the viewer. To accomplish this on the table uses solid colored paper or paper with drawings to be repetitive tune with the rest of the composition, texture and colors. Make sure the paper cover the entire area of the table to be included in the photo.  

§  Make sure the contrast between the plate of food and the fund is adequate. If you use such a background color to the dish as this will make less attractive the main subject.

Accessories and tools

Maintaining the frame as simple as possible is our goal. However, the use of digital cameras accessories like a flash and a lens may be of great help! In addition, you can consider tools that can help you to get more impressive food photography and more drama. I say "may" because it does not work in all cases so you must experiment to determine whether appropriate or not. I prefer white utensils; a white plate helps me to highlight the colors of the food while creating a clear separation between them and what is below it.

Whenever I have on hand a pair of plates, one plain the other deep red tablecloth, napkins, a pair of cloth, utensils and a silver knife and fork and a shaker it is my favorite setting! Sometimes other tools may be useful as candles, vases, coffee, sugar and salt blocks. In most cases resort to the use of herbs, fruits or vegetables that are part of the food to complement the scene around the plate. This technique may work great for all digital cameras.
