For example, you will need a line checker for the cable coming into your TV. This way you can check the signal and make sure that it's strong. On that same note, if you get internet through your cable company, then you may need to get a computer checker as well. This way you can check your up stream and down stream on your computer. As you can guess, the up stream is how much your computer is uploading through the cables, and the down stream is how much your computer is downloading. There are certain numbers that you should be looking for, but each computer is different. To get a good idea of what your numbers should be, you need to check out your different products online.

One top of that, a lot of cable companies are also doing phone now, thus, you may need a telephone communication checker as well. The thing to remember is that you do not need checkers for products you do not have.
