Madden
10 is a somewhat modified game from earlier years. Because of this, you are
forced to make adjustments to make sure you account for the modifications in
Madden games. While not immense, there are some little details you need to
adjust for for to make sure you keep on top of your game playing ability.
The
wildcat offense. While big in the new state of the National Football League,
the wildcat offense in Madden still needs some development. Due to the weird
state of the game you can not really run with your QB, so the true effieincy of
this is not fully realized. When using the formation, only choose it if you
desire an extra blocker for a given play.
Tossing
it far. Passing it long is not as effective in Madden, and for some reason, it
is more of a issue to finish off a long throw. Precision passes are difficult
to come by, and your QBs long throw stat is an integral part of it. This means
that you can frequently clog the line of scrimmage and not have to worry about
the far pass, something that is not practical in reality.
Field
goal difficulty. FGs are harder than ever, making it so you have to move your
analog stick straight up and down or the kick will go far right or left.
Because of this you have to pay attention for every field goal or risk a
horrible punt, FG or kickoff. These can make a big adjustment in field position
and move your game from a win to a narrow defeat.
