Thanks to the phenomenal success of the Samsung Galaxy S2 we are currently seeing a number of variations on this model hit the shelves.  One of the very latest to be announced is the Samsung Galaxy R,The Samsung Galaxy R- A Closer Look At This New Model  Articles a model that boasts a very similar specification to its big brother but has been stripped back in a couple of areas.  The result of this is a superb smartphone that will be available at a very competitive price.Like the flagship model in the range the new Galaxy R feels solid when you handle the phone.  The device is well built and manages to combine stylish looks with a well crafted and high quality design.  The screen on this model is fractionally smaller than the S2 at 4.2 inches but still remains one of the largest mobile displays available.  The screen uses a new SC-LCD technology which offers an improvement on S-LCD but falls slightly below what Super AMOLED can offer.  Displaying a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels the screen also offers up to 16 million colours and the result is a wonderfully vivid image which displays natural depth in dark colours together with brilliant whites.  The Galaxy S2 is the slimmest phone available but the new style of screen means that some extra millimetres have been added onto the depth of this model along with nearly 20 grammes of additional weight.  Despite these increases the phone still feels slimline in your hand and remains one of the more desirable devices available.The Samsung Galaxy R uses a very impressive operating system in the form of Android 2.3.3.  To simplify the operation of this system Samsung have opted to skin the platform with their own TouchWiz 4.0 user interface.  This makes using the phone a pleasure and presents you with real time updates on your homescreen together with a host of other useful features.  Whether this user interface is equal to the excellent Sense UI from HTC remains to be seen but it is certainly one of the more impressive efforts available.  Media lovers will appreciate the great quality camera on this model which despite offering a lower resolution than the S2 still produces superb images.  The phone captures images at a 5 mega pixel resolution and this feature is accompanied by an equally impressive video capture facility.  Users can now record their own footage in high definition quality meaning the results look great on a big screen as well as on the phones own display.Samsung seem to have hit the jackpot with their Galaxy line up of models and the new Galaxy R assumes its place just beneath the flagship S2.  It offers many of the features found on rival models and manages to be a more wallet friendly option than its big brother.The Samsung Galaxy R is coming soon and the White iPhone 4 is available now.
