The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play looks destined to take the mobile world by storm.

Sony Ericsson have unveiled their latest Smartphopne to me unleashed onto the market place,The Ultimate Gaming Phone - The Great Sony Ericsson Xperia Play  Articles and this one is unlike any phone that has gone before it.  The Xperia play not only boasts all of the specification and functionality of a top end smartphone such as the iPhone 4, but with the added bonus of sporting gaming facilities similar to Sonys best selling PSP device.  This should make this phone appeal to a whole new market, and ultimately push Sony Ericsson alongside the likes of HTC and Apple as big hitters in the smartphone world.Also known as the Playstation phone thanks to its gaming capabilities, it easy to overlook the fact that as a stand alone mobile phone, this device is one of the very best available.  The Xperia Play uses the ever popular Android operating system, and it is pleasing to see the phone boasting the latest 2.3 version.  Affectionately known as Gingerbread, this system offers improved intuitive text input and an enhanced user interface.  The platform also includes improved power management meaning positive result on battery life.  However the most appealing aspect to many users is that the huge range of downloads available in the marketplace are available from the word go.  This OS offers flash support in web browsing, giving a satisfying online experience very similar to what you would expect to find on a home PC or Laptop.  This is also helped by the fact that the Xperia play boasts some superb connectivity options that include WiFi when you have access to a network or 3G whilst you are on the move.  All modern phones sport a camera facility, and this one is no different.  On the rear of the device you will find a 5 mega pixel camera capable of capturing a good standard of image.In terms of design, at first glance the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play look similar to other smartphones with the large screen dominating the fascia and the four familiar Android keys located beneath it.  Size wise this phone was never going to be the smallest thanks to the slider design that houses the gaming controls, but in reality, when its in the palm of your hand it is actually relatively compact.  The Play sports a 4 inch display that show a resolution of 480 x 854, eclipsing the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S and putting it almost on a par with the iPhone 4 in terms of quality.  The aspect that makes this phone stand out from its competitors is its slide out control panel, which resembles a PS3 controller with a D pad, four buttons and a play and select key.  Even the analogue sticks have been incorporated, but in the form of two circular touch sensitive panels.The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play looks destined to take the mobile world by storm by offering a great phone with unrivaled gaming functionality.The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and the Samsung Galaxy Fit are coming soon.
