They will have a mobile app associated with them and a tiny Bluetooth-based "proximity chip" embedded in the handle of umbrella. This chip sends silent signal which can be read by your mobile app. This will create an invisible leash between umbrella-and mobile app(you can consider it as you). If the distance between your phone and umbrella exceeds a defined distance- 30 ft or so- the chip inside your umbrella would send a notification message to your mobile phone and you will never forget your umbrella again.
