The Blackberry Torch range of mobile phones is growing thanks to the brands appeal to the highly lucrative teen market.  Features such as Blackberry Messenger are appealing to a younger generation raised using the likes of MSN and Twitter.  The large screen and great connectivity options appeal on these handsets rather than the more traditional Blackberry devices which offered a smaller screen which shared the fascia with a full keypad.  Here we take a look at the new Torch 9810 and compare it to its predecessor the 9800.If you are expecting the new model to offer huge improvements with regards to dimensions then you will be disappointed.  Physically the models share the exact measurements and pretty much identical design.  This however is no great problem given that the design of the 9800 remains appealing and betters what many brands offer on their new handsets.  Screen technology on the other hand has received a welcomed boost.  Despite both models offering the same size 3.2 inch displays the new model has raised the resolution to 480 x 640 pixels rather than the 360 x 480 offered on the earlier model.  In terms of a pixels per inch rating this means that the new 9810 offers a great rating of 250 which is an improvement of over 30%.  The storage capacity on the phone has also seen a suitable upgrade and users are now given 8GB of internal capacity which is double what the 9800 offered.  This should suffice the average phone user but anybody requiring a little more capacity can take advantage of the phones micro SD card slot which accepts cards up to a value of 32GB.  This means the Torch 9810 has a total potential storage of 40GB.The processor in a mobile phone determines just how quickly the phone will operate and the new Blackberry Torch 9810 offers a huge improvement in this department.  Rather than slightly increase the 624Mhz that was present on the 9800 the new model effectively doubles it resulting in a super fast 1.2Ghz chip being fitted on this model.  The improvements are immediately obvious with web pages loading in an instant and applications operating in a flash.  The new chip is accompanied by a graphics processing unit in the form of the Adreno 205 chip.  This  further enhances the speed of the phone especially on demanding tasks such as gaming and video playback.  Another area which improves the overall speed of the new phone is the updated version of the Blackberry operating system that it uses.  The platform incorporates an improved web browser which gives a 45% improvement in terms of speed as well as a host of other tweaks and enhancements. We loved the Torch 9800 and the new Blackberry Torch 9810 builds upon the great foundations laid by it predecessor resulting in a great multi purpose mobile phone which appeals in almost every department. The Blackberry Torch 9810 and the Blackberry Bold 9900 are available now.
