Casa Batllo was built by one of Gaudí’s architecture professors Emilio Sala Cortes in 1877. In 1904,Antoni Gaudi’s Casa Batllo, Barcelona Articles Gaudi was hired to redesign the building and he completed the project in 1904. Due to its unique design and architect Casa Batllo was listed in UNESCO’s world heritage site list in 1986.

Most of the people who come to visit Barcelona rave Sagrada Familia and Park Guell, there is no doubt they are the world-famous tourist site. But I like Casa Batllo more because the area is not overcrowded and you can visit all the rooms and architecture as long as you want.

The front of the Casa Batllo building is very colorful and is this famous artwork of Gaudi. Due to its skeletal and organic quality, it is famous as Casa dels ossos which means House of Bones. The building is decorated with colorful waves that appear as scales when seen from a dragon. This magnificent building is made up of broken tiles, stones, marbles and glass and is a type of a mosaic.

With its impressive interior and attractive facades, Casa Batllo is the centerpiece of Barcelona. The interior of the building shows you a glimpse of the Batllo family who once lived there.

Earlier it was decided to demolish the building but anyhow Gaudi preserves, renovates and reconstructs the building and as a result, it is one of the most visited sites in Barcelona.

Must-see attractions in Casa Batllo:

1.The Planta Noble: It is the place where the Batllo family lived.

2.The central staircase and hall

3.Chimney and terrace

4.Patio De Luces: A stairwell that creates the sea-like effect with shades of blue light.
