When you ask people to think about China the image that enters their head may be of wise Buddhist monks who not only say really profound things but can also perform acrobatic kicks with their Shaolin Kung Fu. For many people their first image of China was Bruce Lee or the TV series called Kung Fu. If you are interested in martial arts then China is certainly a great place to visit,China has more to offer than just Kung Fu Articles but there is a whole lot more on offer in China than just Kung Fu. China is quickly becoming one of the most powerful countries on the planet. It is a fascinating place that mixes the ancient with the modern, and is not just the home of one culture but of many. The vastness of China means that there is a huge variety of climates and geographical features. In some areas of People's Republic life has changed little over the centuries while the cities are fast-paced and offer all the modern amenities and sophistication that you would expect to find in of the top urban areas around the world. Chinese cuisine has become the most popular food around the world. If you want to taste the real thing though, you have to travel to the country of its origin. Depending on the area you travel to you will find different styles of cooking. If Chinese food isn't your thing then the big cities will be able to offer you any of the international foods from McDonalds to French cuisine. China is a relatively cheap country for tourists. If you paid the same prices as the local population then it really would be a good deal, but tourists are expected to pay a bit extra. Despite this unfair practice it is still possible to get a great deal in the country and so long as you are prepared to eat local food and don't expect accommodation that is too fancy. China is a popular destination for backpackers and this class of traveler is not known for being spend-thrifts; so it is possible to see the country on a shoestring. The one thing you will need if you want to see China is plenty of time; there is just so much to see. If you want to get a real taste of the country then a good idea is to spend some time doing a Tai Chi course in the Wudang Mountains or learning Kung Fu in the Shaolin temple. This will not only give you the opportunity to learn a new skill, but also allow you time to get to know the local population. China has a lot to offer the tourist, and you can't really claim to be a world traveler until you have spent a bit of time in this country. The vastness of the country and the different cultures means that you can visit this country as many times as you like and there will always be something new to see. The People's Republic has a lot more to offer than just Kung Fu.
