Although Paris may be the first city to come to mind when thinking about romantic cities, New York cannot be far behind. New York is a city where the possibilities are endless. NYC Marathon: Join over 40,000 marathoners at this annual event which takes place in the first week of November each year and consists of a 26.2 mile course that runs through all five boroughs of the city. Skating Rink at Rockefeller Center: For those considering an extended stay in New York, the skating rink at Rockefeller Center is a must visit and opens in October for the winter session, having just completed its 80th anniversary season.

Thanksgiving Parade by Macy’s: Thanksgiving is not complete without this massive parade, which takes place on Thanksgiving day and includes massive floats, clowns, giant balloons, marching bands and much more. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the parade and many new balloons will be making an entrance. Although available to watch on TV, watching the free parade in person will make for a truly magnificent day out.

New York City Wine and Food festival: Running from 13th to 16th October, this tasty festival brings together celebrity chefs and professionals from the culinary industry such as famous chocolatier Jacques Torres. That’s not all, the festival gives you the opportunity to attend wine tasting events, parties and sit-down dinners including an Italian feast, a burger bash, a ‘haute dogs and champagne’ event and a Halloween dessert party!

Comic Con: Taking place between 5th & 8th October, this event attracts over 150,000 comic book fans every year and is one of the most anticipated events in New York. Check out multiple panels featuring your favorite graphic novel authors. The best part of Comic Con is the cosplay that fans indulge in, dressing up as every superhero on the planet. If you want to attend but don’t want to create an entire costume, head to the nearest Halloween store. This year’s Comic Con will see Keanu Reeves in attendance as well.
