Les Menuires is perfect skiers and for foodies, as there are many superb gourmet restaurants that are sure to tantalise your taste buds.

For me,Gourmet Munching in Les Menuires Articles skiing holidays are as much about indulging in fine wine and good food as they are shredding powder. This is why Les Menuires is such a great resort for those who are after gourmet munching, varied skiing and stunning natural surroundings. The skiing in Les Menuires is superb, providing easy access to the Three Valleys region (the largest interconnected region in the world), but it is also a Mecca for gastronomists in search of high-quality and beautifully prepared dishes. There are many fantastic eateries to check out in and around the resort, but here are a few of my favourites.

Restaurant K

By day, this venue is a fabulous brasserie that serves tantalising lunches. By night, it’s a fancy restaurant with an extensive menu, and is an absolute must-visit spot for food lovers. It is certainly worth visiting during the day, but it is once the sun goes down that Restaurant K is at its best. The fine wines that are available help make the fantastic meals even more special and memorable.

La Bouitte

This inviting three-star Michelin restaurant is nestled in the hamlet of St. Marcel in a cosy farmhouse with alpine decor. In addition to the wonderful setting, La Bouitte offers exquisite and highly creative food, drawing on Savoy traditions. These delicious dishes are the creations of a father and son team, – René and Maxime – who have been working together for over 20 years. Be warned: you will need to book in advance to get a table here. Due to its somewhat remote location, the restaurant also picks you up and delivers you to the lift in St. Martin, which is a nice bonus.

L’Ours Blanc

Head here for breathtaking views over La Masse from the panoramic terrace, where tasty food is served throughout the day. It is a great spot for a hearty breakfast before a day of skiing in Les Menuires, but coming for grilled meats and snacks at lunch is also a good option. Dinner is available in the evenings, during which another father and son team deliver creative dishes that are made entirely with local produce.

La Maison de Savoy

Conveniently situated at the foot of the slopes, this farmhouse-style eatery is a fun and colourful place, serving classic mountain food in generous portions – which is perfect after a long day of carving powder! In addition to mountain classics, patrons can also order pizza and eat this either in the restaurant or take it home.

La Folie Douce

La Folie Douce is one of the more popular food and drink establishments in the region – and for good reason! It features a cool dairy farm interior, which is complete with milk churns and pipe work, but it is the exterior that brings people in from near and far. La Folie Douce boasts the highest open-air club in all of Europe, where live bands DJs play for the fun-loving crowd.

Tese are just a few of the excellent venues for good food and wine in the area. They are all great spots for concluding – or, in some cases, beginning – a fun-filled day of skiing in Les Menuires.
