For a tourist Nainital has a lot to offer. Situated in the outer Himalayan Mountain Range, the town is a picturesque hill town. It is complete of nature's riches. There is a beautiful lagoon called the Naini Lake, which is filled with crystalline blue water and is bordered by several peaks, namely Naina, Ayarpatha, and Deopatha. These are the most prominent and tallest peaks surrounding the lae. Many also believe that the lake has the shape of an eye. Legends say that the town is among the 64 Shakti peeths on Earth, where fell the parts of the charred body of Maa Sati while being carried by Lord Shiva. The place where the Naini lake is; fell the eyes of her, hence giving the name and shape to the lake. There is a temple dedicated to her on the north shore of the lake known as the Nanda Devi temple.



Nainital is known for receiving a pleasant weather year-long. The time between May to July is considered best time for Nainital tour. Summers here are mildly warm, whereas the winters are quite cold, the town gets capped by thick layers of snow during winters. The town is divided into two different parts, Tallital and Mallital, separated by the lake. It is the lake, the areas nearby the lake, and the Nanda Devi temple, which receive most of the actions. These are the three most popular hotspots in the town.
