Round Robin

The Round Trip is a full day trip that has been voted by the Sunday Times as the Number 1 Day trip in the United Kingdom. On this trip, you get the chance to ride on a bus, train and a ship all on the same day. This trip starts from Torquay and ends there too. It is best to make the necessary booking with the Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Boat Company if you want to make sure that your booking is confirmed.

The Round Robin trip is one of the popular Torquay family attractions because it lets you see the many beautiful places such as the amazing stretch of coastline that is between Paignton and Kingswear while you are travelling for the 30 minutes on the steam train. When you reach Kingswear, you go on the 7 minute foot passenger ferry ride to Dartmouth.  When you reach Dartmouth, you take a 75 minute cruise to Totnes. When you arrive in Totnes, you then take a bus trip back to Paignton which will be about 25 minutes.

During this trip, you will get the chance to see sweeping views of the beautiful scenery and some exciting wildlife too.  The wildlife that you would most probably see includes osprey, seals, buzzards, herons, dolphins, egrets and kingfisher although sometimes there are no dolphins.  It is good to always bring a digital camera so that you will not miss out on capturing all those special moments as well as other Torquay family attractions that you might pass by.

You can also try travelling on an open top bus.  It does not operate daily but if you really want to try it out, you have to call their office in the morning before you go on your day trip to check out the schedule.

You can choose from the Round Robin and the Round Robin Gold which starts and ends at Torquay. The Round Robin is £19.50 for adults, £12.50 for children 3 to 15 years old and £58 family rate for 2 adults and 2 children.
