To be known as the fifth most populated city in North America is no small deal but Toronto is more than that. Housing 25% of Canada's population, the city is home to 8.1 million residents. Not only is it a global city, it is also a melting pot of various cultures, some wafting into the lives via immigrants and some from the tribes who inhabited the place earlier. Notwithstanding the tag of the most expensive Canadian city to live in, Toronto is consistently voted as the ‘most livable' city by various teams and statistical agencies.

Compared to different cities around the globe, Toronto may be a little compressed and condensed. Covering a total area of 630 square kilometers, it is 21 kilometers north to south and 43 kilometers east to west. The city extends out to the lake encompassing the harbor downtown.

Settled in the southern part of Canada, Toronto enjoys warmer temperatures than mainland Canada does. People enjoy warm summers which are a little humid but have to bear the harsh winters. Toronto experiences four seasons all the year round. Being close to the waters lets this city have moderate temperatures. Winters do bring in a few unexpected changes because of the snow but spring time makes up for it by creating a picturesque ambience with colorful leaves and a vibrant atmosphere.

Toronto offers its tourists a lot of attractions and when you find yourself in this city, be sure to climb the CN tower. If the restaurants there, at a height of 447 meters do not satisfy your appetite, the food sure will. Lounging on the beach may be a good idea but only in the summer because winters will ensure you freeze before you get there in one piece!

Chinatown in Toronto? It is supposed to be the best and the largest in North America. You get great food, cheap shops and an environment and experience to cherish. If you find yourself sniffing food out of the smallest holes, a visit to St. Lawrence's food market is a must. If you think you don't need to buy anything yet, take a look and fill your tummy!

While touring Toronto, you can never forget to see the Niagara Falls that run from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. It is said that the Canadian side is better developed than the American one, so you should make sure you visit this when you're in Toronto.

If you find yourself more attracted to learning about the events of the world or the city you are in, a visit to the Royal Ontario Museum is essential. Besides these, there are quite a few destinations that one can mark on their way to touring the city.
