Creativity and imagination are great talents but it should not be gotten out of hand.  The secret to a good graphic design is a balance of art and principles. Absence of one of these two factors results to insufficient extreme designs. Graphic designs must be vitally based on tested fundamentals to prevent pitfalls yet updated styles to keep up with the latest trends.

The idea of distance claims associated or things that are related must be placed near to each other. Contrast is referred to as difference and dissimilarities of objects. In graphic design, the element of contrast states that if two items are not the same, make them every different. Color and graphic design is what the viewers first notice when they land on a page. The element of contrast adds interest to the page. Contrast colors in banners, texts, headers and so on.
