When you enrolled in college, you probably pictured yourself studying, having fun and spending a lot of time on campus. You might not have pictured what you’d be wearing while doing that, but it turns out it’s not very different from one day to the next.

As a young adult,3 Dynamic, Fun Ways to Add Color to Your Wardrobe Articles you should be able to experiment with your wardrobe choices more than ever. You’re young, you may have more disposable income and you should be up to date with what’s going on in the fashion world. However, it’s not always easy to stay fashionable. Not every young adult lives in a big city where fashion matters, and not every young adult has the extra income for a completely new wardrobe from head to toe. Maybe you already have a job with a dress code. Or perhaps you’re busy studying on campus and don’t feel like dressing to the nines if only your roommate and classmates are going to see you.

You don’t have to wear something new every day to feel stylish. Purchasing a few brightly colored pieces for your wardrobe will make you feel hip without requiring you to put in a lot of effort. Even if you’re just going to class, it’s no big deal to throw them on. Even if your work’s dress code is pretty strict, you can at least get away with wearing these pieces to and from the office. Pair your brightly-colored accessories with any plain-colored clothing you already have in your wardrobe; they even look good with pajamas if you head straight to class after rolling out of bed.

Sneakers

There are few things more suited to the young adult than a pair of comfortable, colorful sneakers. Between running to class, working out and running around town, you’re often on your feet as a young adult. You won’t always often feel like wearing uncomfortable dress shoes, especially if you’re having a lazy, comfortable day entirely on campus. Even running to and from work is much more comfortable in quirky sneakers, and you can always put on the boring dress shoes once you get there. Wearing a bright and bold pair of sneakers makes running around less of a pain. Plus, it’s very retro and in fashion to wear sneakers that scream “uniquely you.”

Hats

Most of the time you spend on campus is in fall, winter and spring, the three least warm times of the year. Even if you’re just going from a dorm room to a classroom to the library and back, you’re exposed to cold weather, biting winds and snow or rain. Even commuting to work can get chilly. Bundle up to reduce the likelihood of getting sick, and pick out a brightly-colored hat to protect your ears and head. Hot pink, deep blue, and dynamic purple are just a few of the stylish color options you’ll find in a warm, cozy design. Plus, when it’s snowing out, having that bright color on your head will make it easier for other people to see you, which makes it safer for you if you’re walking near the campus drive and visibility is low for drivers.

Leggings

Leggings are not only fashionable, they’re functional, as they keep you warm. Pair them with a skirt or even shorts. You can also have just a hint of leggings peeking out at the bottom of a pair of pants. The bolder the design, the more fashionable you’ll be, especially when they’re paired with a plain colored top. You can even wear an overlong sweater or t-shirt over leggings with a belt at the waist. It’s as comfortable as pajamas but far more stylish.

Stock up on brightly colored accessories and it won’t matter how drab the rest of your wardrobe is. Basic dark attire needs only a small spark of color to make you look stylish. Draw the eye to your bright and bold accessory, and have fun in even casual attire every day.
